Easter in a hat!
In the United States Easter is an important issue, since weeks before the stores are filled with rabbits, eggs, flowers and accessories for home, for us in Mexico maybe it is a more religious issue but here is something else.
The traditional Easter parade on the fifth avenue goes back to 1800 when the rich class paraded on the avenue with their best outfits after the religious services that started the Easter (ok, after the historical data)...
Any opportunity in NY to show creativity and originality is adapted instantly so Easter Sunday anticipated a landscape full of color ... and it was.
A cloudy day to be spring (but hey the weather is crazy, today we have snow!) Walking down the fifth avenue was a show: flowers, Easter eggs, colors, disguised pets ... there were from the classic rabbit ears to those who created all their outfit for the event and decided that their pets were part of it.
When you thought you had seen the most creative outfit a few steps away, there was another one that made you change your mind, a lot of style, smiles and what happens in this kind of event, people who maybe have nothing in common but only joined a few hours sharing, age did not matter and neither the marital status, all were part of the same celebration and give continuity to a tradition with a touch of modern.
In NY when you think you've seen it all ... just wait around the corner.
